Mentor of Justice

Mentor of Justice is the stage at which the bearer is obliged to decide what they believe in, and to live on according to that definition. Here they compose for themselves a code of the principles of justice: idealistic and deeply personal, but necessarily in harmony with the nature of the Sun.

This code becomes their own Order — a covenant with themselves, with the deity, and with the world. Until they comprehend the heart of their justice, their powers do not work at full strength. But once they comprehend it:

Halo of Justice — within a radius of ten kilometers, every action that answers to their justice is sharply strengthened, and one that violates it is sharply weakened or extinguished altogether;

Court of Justice — on a chosen target: any of its powers contradicting this code are weakened or canceled;

the skills of the Notary and of the Unclouded receive new manifestation, strengthening what accords with justice and undermining what opposes it.

The second prerogative is the Holy Covenant, whose binding force is such that even an angel dares not break it. Tellingly, the presence of the Sun itself is not required for the fulfillment of the covenant: the existence of the luminary already ensures observance — such is the instinct of the prerogative.

There is also a church skill — Assessment of Faith. If the Mentor holds an ecclesiastical rank, their prayers and praises quickly transform the altar: around the sacred emblem points of holy light flare up, and the atmosphere becomes solemn. Then these points converge upon the one for whom they pray, grow slightly, and emit ephemeral voices of prayers — each signifying an anchor for the one to whom the faith is addressed.

At this level, the Unclouded's domain fills the surrounding area with pure warm golden light, driving desolation and the breath of death to the very edges: the mystical disease agents of the Demoness perish almost entirely in such light.

The advancement ritual is cruel precisely in its simplicity: three years without a single deviation from one's own justice.
