The Method long remained the knowledge of the few: the hierarchs of churches were in no hurry to reveal it, and many otherworldly beings rose blindly, paying for it with their sanity.
An otherworldly being must behave as prescribed by their level until the power becomes part of them. While the potion hasn't been digested, the bearer is vulnerable: the power is already there, but control over it is not yet.
Path roles are dangerous to others from the very lowest level: the Killer eliminates, the Instigator pits people against each other, the Witch already works with fate and curse.
