Corpse Collector

Corpse Collector

Lowest step

The Corpse Collector is the entrance to the Path of Death, and it changes its bearer not with power alone. After the potion, physical data grow, but along with them comes a grim presence and a lowered body temperature: living people feel this even without understanding what the matter is.

Spirituality adds a little, but enough for Spiritual Sight — now he sees what the living should not see.

The only true ability of the step is the knowledge of the undead: the Corpse Collector gains extensive information about the habits and weak points of many corpses. He has neither a blow, nor defense, nor power over spirits — only an understanding of what he deals with.

This makes the ninth step of the Path of Death unusually honest: it does not turn a man into a fighter, it gives him knowledge that allows him not to perish first. In a city where the dead rise and ghosts roam the cemeteries, such a man is worth more than a well-armed detachment.

The formula matches the craft down to the last position: a dried black-spotted frog, a crystal of one wrapped in a shroud, ten drops of the same frog's slime, hydrolat of the black lily — and one used burial shroud.
