Darkness (Sequence 0)

Darkness is the pinnacle of the path. Its authorities are four, and each overlaps with the domains of other gods, which makes this tier one of the broadest in scope.

Concealment belongs to the symbolism of the Oneness of All. Darkness hides traces in any form, disrupts others' spying and divination, makes anything hidden and removes hiddenness in return, and it simply senses and comprehends a multitude of secrets directly. It is able to drag a target into the hidden world — and it will vanish from reality, like a sketch erased by an eraser. It knows how to force silence in various ways: the secret that Darkness wants to hide will not come out. Of all the gods of its level, it is the hardest to track and detect.

Darkness itself — power over sleep and rest: it sends dreams, grants tranquility or eternal rest and dissolves the target into darkness, making it part of itself; it can release the Darkness that is the Limit of All That Exists — an extremely dangerous thing, capable of killing on the spot, even when it is directed for the sake of an ally; it cannot die in the dark itself and with its help resurrects: the darkness is one of the most fundamental symbols of the universe; the peace and eternal sleep it brings extinguish corruption and mental attacks, calming the target; against the Otherworldly path of the Seer its power over dreams leans toward nightmares; even a true god it is able to drag into sleep through deep slumber.

The third power is spiritual bodies and spirituality: Darkness is for spirits both limit and mistress, and here its power intersects with the power of the Mother Goddess of Vice and Death.

The fourth is Misfortune and Catastrophe: the calamities it brings kinship it with the paths of the Demoness, the Red Priest, and the Wheel of Fortune. Separate is Terror: Darkness is the very embodiment of this feeling and is able to instill in others such fear that their actions cease.

The ritual of ascension and the composition are fitting: a whole moon goes into the potion, and to immerse in eternal sleep one needs Uniqueness, a Divine Kingdom, or a true god.
