Demoness (Sequence 0)

The Demoness is the pinnacle of the path, also known as the Demoness of Chaos and the Primordial Demoness.

The path to her reads as a successive expansion of one and the same technique. The Killer acts from the shadows against a single person; the Instigator raises a mob through others' hands; the Witch receives charms; the Demoness of Pleasure binds with threads; the Demoness of Plagues sends out disease; Despair works with thirty thousand; Catastrophe works with a continent; Apocalypse works with the end of an era. The scale grows, the technique remains the same: not to defeat, but to make everything collapse on its own.

The composition of the path's pinnacle matches all that has been said. The main ingredient of step 0 does not exist, and the auxiliary part consists of two things, each of which is impossible in its own way: a share of genuine love emanating from the ascendant herself, and half of the Mirror World.

Regarding love, the canon makes an important caveat: it is phantom, and before it goes into use, it must be turned into something between the real and the phantom. The path that at the sixth step forbade the bearer from falling in love, at the pinnacle demands genuine love from her — and demands that this love be turned into material.

The ritual of ascension according to the Blasphemy Slate leads downward: to descend into the depths of the earth, find the Sea of Chaos and endure some measure of its corruption while preserving oneself — not to fall and not to be reborn.
