Wingless Angel

Wingless Angel is the stage at which a person begins to leave the host. The body grows stronger still and becomes ever less human; the mind gains the ability to remain utterly calm and almost devoid of feeling even in brutal combat; devilish nature — upon transitioning to this stage, the host undergoes inhuman changes and gains two or three spell-like devilish abilities, unique to each. Cold-bloodedness here is not endurance, but precisely the absence of feeling — and this is the first step of that dehumanization which the path of the Abyss carries out consistently and to the end. The composition underscores this as harshly as possible: the formula includes the heart — or a similar organ — of the first creature killed by the ascendant, and of the same kind as himself. One's own first kill here literally becomes the material.
