The Balancer is an angelic stage, and its authority finally matches the name of the entire path.
Equilibrium — the bearer holds a share of this power;
Laws — he is able to issue laws and decrees, and these, determining the situation, at once bring into effect several prohibitions or enhancements.
The mythical form is complete: a colossal brass pillar with the rules inscribed upon it. That very pillar which at the fourth stage was but incomplete.
The advancement ritual is among the most state-oriented in all of mysticism: to put an end to the disorder on an entire continent and establish between the various forces an equilibrium capable of lasting no less than a hundred years.
At the same time, the canon makes an important caveat: the ascending one need not hold a dominant position, but he is obliged to play a decisive role. The Balancer is not a ruler; he is the one without whom equilibrium would not have come to be.
The composition lists objects taken from different parts of the world: a thing that glorifies only the Sun, a breath of temptation toward degeneration from the Heart's Abyss, and contamination from the Duke of Entropy or a being like him. Equilibrium is assembled from opposites.
