Strange Sorcerer

The Strange Sorcerer is the demigod threshold on the Fool's path. Spirituality grows noticeably: the simplest divination like a tossed coin is enough to get an answer that previously required sleep and lengthy interpretation, while Spiritual Vision no longer needs a separate action — it switches on at the bearer's will.

As a demigod he gains an incomplete mythical form, and this path's form is special: transparent larvae covered in a volumetric pattern of sinister tentacles — Spirit Worms. Layers of mysterious symbols on them link the levels above and below, directly manifesting the abstract concepts of strangeness, madness, change, power, and wisdom.

From this form grow both new abilities:

Bestowal — the Sorcerer detaches Spirit Worms from his mythical form and "gifts" them to his puppets, allowing them to use his own otherworldly powers; at first there are about fifty such worms, later more, and he can take back, gift, and transfer them between puppets within a kilometer radius through the threads of the spiritual body;

Concealment — the Sorcerer hides his Sequence from Beyonders of the Arbiter path level and below, though the very fact that they face a Beyonder cannot be hidden.

The Spirit Worms also grant unexpected protection: the Sorcerer dampens part of mental strikes such as the infusion of knowledge by spreading the load among the worms, and quickly regains control over his body.

Previous powers intensify sharply: the Focuser's tricks, the Faceless One's shapeshifting — now he transforms into any animal of suitable size — and especially control over others' threads of the spiritual body.

The advancement ritual requires not quiet preparation but publicity: kill a demigod Beyonder creature before an audience, staging it as a performance.
