Master of the Past — the step at which the Fool's path reaches into history and begins to borrow from it. The main ability is called History, and it is divided into three parts.
Borrowing from the historical void — the Master takes strength from his own former self, and this can be repeated any number of times, as long as spirituality lasts;
Summoning historical projections — he calls forth from the historical void people and objects that existed in the past, for a limited time;
Concealment in the historical void — the Master withdraws into the cracks of history and waits out the danger there, as long as spirituality permits, but on emerging he is obliged to return to exactly the same point of the world.
Beyond this, he can cast fog and lower the surrounding temperature — a trait by which the bearer of this step is recognized almost before anything else.
The old tricks of the Trickster change qualitatively. The paper substitute figurine now throws off divination, prophecies, surveillance, and another's gaze, and Damage Transfer allows one to offload onto it part of ailments, curses, prophecies, blows, and gazes.
The ritual of advancement to this step is one of the strangest in all mysticism: one must drop out of reality for more than three hundred years and drink the elixir only when one has already become history oneself and no longer belongs to the current era.
