The Prisoner is the pinnacle of the Path, and its ritual of ascension is perhaps the most horrifying among all twenty-two paths.
To mummify oneself alive;
to fill one's own body with a potion instead of entrails, sealing it within;
and then to kill oneself, sealing in the true state of a mummy — in a coffin and mausoleum — for no less than a hundred years;
and all of this so that the remaining spirit and will do not disperse.
A path that began with a prisoner who suppresses desires ends with the bearer finally imprisoning himself — now literally, in his own body, coffin, and mausoleum.
Of the components, the canon names one position, and it is fitting: the "Cage," in which a true god was once kept or sealed.
The potion is described as layers of dreadful black thorns, yellow oiled bandages, and bright sharp roses, and the characteristic is a small ghostly figure wrapped in layers of bandages, thorns, and roses.
