Faceless

The Faceless is the stage after which the bearer no longer has a single, one-of-a-kind appearance. He freely molds his own body and flesh, replicating another's face, figure, voice, and to a certain degree even scent — and becomes whoever he wishes to be.

There are still limitations, and they are physical. The Faceless can reproduce the features and proportions of a person of the opposite sex, but does not truly change his sex. Neither can he pretend to be someone who differs too greatly in height or mass: the foreign body must fit into something. But the transformation he controls completely, down to the smallest detail.

The second property of the stage is quieter, but paired with the first it is more terrifying: the Faceless precisely remembers the appearance and mannerisms of everyone he knows, and recognizes a person under any disguise. That is, forging someone in his presence is a hopeless endeavor, while he himself can forge anyone.

The ability to shape-shift, together with the bodily control of the previous stages, makes him an excellent actor, and together with accumulated focuses — dangerous in battle, in tracking, and in evading pursuit. The previous otherworldly powers also grow by about a third: control over flames, the fiery leap, and everything else.

Divination and combat skills also receive a boost at this stage — the Faceless remains a man of the Path of the Jester, not merely a shapeshifter. This is an important distinction: the thousand-faced hunter, whose pituitary gland forms the basis of the potion, changed his appearance instinctively, while the Faceless does so deliberately, remembering why and before whom he performs.

In practice, the sixth stage means that the bearer may have not one life but several parallel ones — with different names, reputations, and circles of acquaintances. That is precisely how the famous guises of Klein Moretti are structured: the detective Sherlock Moriarty and the pirate Gerhman Sparrow exist for those around them as separate, wholly unconnected people, each with his own manner, his own past, and his own enemies.
