Ocean Singer — the middle of the path and its first step with an advancement ritual. Kinship with water here becomes complete: the bearer can stay underwater for as long as they like; understands aquatic animals and speaks with them; freely draws oxygen straight from the water; and fears no Otherworldly below a demigod while underwater. Ghostly scales grant it protection higher than that of most fifth Sequences, and in a moment of real danger the body itself responds: the heart contracts and expands, as if it were a source of storm, and blood flows through the veins like a tidal wave. The advancement ritual is short and entirely in the spirit of the path: take a potion in the belly of the obninsk. The composition is both sea-bound and song-bound at once: a siren's throat and a crystalline druse of a crystal jellyfish, joined by siren's hair, its tentacles, a tidal shell and a porous coral branch.
