The Scribe is a sequence with a single skill, and it is one of the most unusual skills in all of mysticism. Record allows the bearer, upon seeing another's otherworldly power, to attempt to write down its mystical symbols, patterns, and marks — and, if successful, to keep them for a single use. It works like this: the soul serves as the pen, and the spiritual body as the paper. There are plenty of limitations at first, but they weaken as the potion is digested. When the record is used, the formula sounds: "I came, I saw, I recorded." The method of action explains what the Scribe does between battles: recording various otherworldly abilities; recording local customs and legends of various lands. That is, the sequence requires not feats, but curiosity and perseverance — and it is precisely from this habit of collecting what is other's that all the further power of the path will grow. The value of Record is that it removes the main limitation of the Beyond: usually you can do exactly what your sequence gave you. The Scribe, however, is able to apply what is other's once — and the further along the path, the more serious this "other's" becomes. The Traveler already holds up to four demigod powers, and the Sorcerer of Secrets records angelic ones, up to the powers of the kings of angels. The downside is obvious and makes the sequence vulnerable alone: until the Scribe has seen something, he has nothing. His power is another's power, seen in time and recorded precisely.
