The Sheriff is a rank where a penchant for order turns into an office.
Instinct and spiritual perception become just what a keeper of order needs;
the physique noticeably strengthens;
Jurisdiction — the Sheriff declares some area his subordinate territory;
Recognition — having seen a person in person, in a photo, or in a drawing, he firmly remembers their appearance and gains additional supernatural instinct for them;
Weapon Mastery — he confidently handles handheld melee weapons and with revolvers and shotguns.
Jurisdiction is the first true authority of the path and explains why this branch is so closely tied to the state: the Sheriff's power manifests not everywhere, but where he has declared his authority.
Recognition, in turn, makes him extremely inconvenient for fugitives: it is enough to once catch his eye — or even land in a portrait — for him to then sense you supernaturally.
The formula contains a telling detail: the appointment letter of a sheriff or a similar office — and not necessarily your own.
