Middle stage

Spirit Medium — the stage at which the world of the dead accepts the bearer as one of its own. Physically, unlike the two previous stages, he gains almost nothing — but spirituality grows greatly.
The main trait is called exactly that: kinship with spirits. To the dead and natural spirits around, the Medium is like the same kind of spirit, and therefore not dangerous to them — and they are in no hurry to hide from him or attack him.
Conducting spirits is the core of the stage: the bearer directly speaks with natural spirits and with lingering souls of the dead right in the world of the living;
Dead man's guise — he passes himself off as a zombie in order to more easily endure the corrosive effect of decay, cold, death and other auras.
The Eye of Death grows stronger, and ritual magic connected with spirits is added to his knowledge.
Note what the Medium does not have. The canon directly states: compared with the two previous stages, his physique and mobility almost do not grow. The Path of Death at the Seventh Sequence deliberately gives up the body in favor of the spirit — and this is the first fork where the bearer ceases to be a person who can stand up for himself with his hands.
Instead he gets what cannot be bought with force. The dead man's guise makes him resilient where a living person simply rots alive: in places where the Afterworld leaks, in old crypts, next to strong undead. And kinship with spirits opens up for him a source of information inaccessible to anyone else — the dead saw what none of the living saw, and with the Medium they speak willingly.
At this stage the Path of Death for the first time becomes truly useful in deeds, and not only in observation: the Medium brings with him those who are already dead, and therefore is not afraid of death.
