Otherworldly are those who have taken power from without. But taking power and mastering it are not the same. An Otherworldly may be strong, yet unable to control that power. Until the power becomes part of them, the bearer is vulnerable: the power is already there, but there is no authority over it yet.
The roles of the Path are constructive: the Planter cultivates the land and grows crops, the Doctor heals people, the Druid lives in harmony with nature, not above it.
The method long remained the knowledge of the few: the church hierarchs were in no hurry to reveal it, and many Otherworldly rose blindly, paying for it with their sanity.
