The Demon is the threshold of a demigod, and the canon describes it briefly and exhaustively: a true Demon is demonic in both body and mind. Within a certain radius, it imperceptibly corrupts the mental faculties of those around it, making them careless and prone to mistakes; new charms appear — Acidic Mire, Hellfire, Corrosive Fog, Foul Illusion, and Projection, independent of the Abyss; the sense of danger sharpens; the Language of Abomination is supplemented with words of Confusion, Idleness, and Blasphemy; dominion over desire no longer requires waiting for the target to become agitated: with a voice, a glance, a gesture, the Demon influences one or all within the radius. The advancement ritual requires a scale that has not been needed up to this path: to persuade no fewer than ten thousand intelligent beings to voluntarily sell their souls — and to successfully obtain those souls. The higher the position of the target, the fewer souls are required. The composition, meanwhile, sets a record for cruelty among all twenty-two paths: the hearts of ninety-nine Otherworldly beings. Not monsters, not beasts — Otherworldly ones.
