Nightmare

Nightmare

Middle step

Nightmare is a stage after which someone else's dream ceases to be alien. Spirituality grows significantly, and the first thing this gives is the ability to read Midnight poems without using the throat: the bearer makes the very air around himself sound.

Next begins the work with dreams, and there are three abilities here.

Nightmare state — in sleep, the Nightmare separates the soul from the body and moves freely, at first within the city limits, penetrating into other people's dreams. Ordinary light in this state dims, everything becomes blurred, and dreams are visible as ghostly oval spots of light — by their structure the bearer directly sees what exactly a person is dreaming about.

Sculpting of dreams — he changes someone else's dream and guides the sleeper toward the desired behavior: this way one can both interrogate, extracting the most hidden things, and, conversely, drive into terror, breaking a person's mental balance.

Invasion into a dream — the Nightmare forcibly draws the target into a dream, and under ordinary circumstances the latter does not even notice that it has been pulled somewhere.

This is the first stage of the path where the bearer becomes truly dangerous for those who are physically stronger than him: the sleeper is defenseless, and the dream is the Nightmare's territory.

A known bearer is Dann Smith, captain of the Night Hawks of Tingena, who died in the line of duty.
