The Fool is one of the 22 Beyonders' pathways, along which all known powers of this world are distributed. Each pathway leads from the ninth sequence to the zeroth, and at each step, the bearer takes a new potion and a new role.

Together with the Door and the Error, the Fool forms one of the pathway groups — three related lines that divided adjacent domains among themselves.

On the Fool's path, the method is clearer than anywhere else: almost every sequence here is a role. The Seer divines and reads others' fates, the Clown works for the audience, the Faceless lives through others' faces. The more fully a person immerses themselves in the role, the faster the digestion proceeds.

Knowledge of the method remained hidden for a long time. Even strong beyonders at the Sequence 7 level might not know of it, and church hierarchies were in no hurry to share: the secret gave them power over those who ascended blindly.

The Path of the Fool is one of the twenty-two paths leading to the summit. Its bearers read others' intentions, swap faces and events, and at high steps — rule the very fabric of what is happening.

The summit of the path, Sequence 0 — the Fool, is called the god of the gray mist. The gray mist is not an image, but a place: a space above the ordinary world, from where one can see much more than from below.

The Fool's group includes the adjacent paths of the Door and the Error. Together they share the domains of space, deception, and secrets.
