Der Weg des Tyrannen ist einer der 22 Wege der Jenseitigen, der über Stürme, Meere und die Wut der Elemente herrscht. Seine Träger sind der Schrecken der Meere im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes: vom zähen Matrosen bis zum Donnergott.

Der Weg beginnt mit dem Trank des Matrosen (Sequenz 9) und führt zu Sequenz 0 – dem Tyrannen. Er gehört zur Gruppe des „Allmächtigen Gottes“. In der Ära des Romans wird der Weg von der Kirche des Sturmgottes beherrscht – der zweiten der großen Kirchen Loens.

Der Träger des Weges im Tarotclub ist Alger Wilson: Die Ironie besteht darin, dass sein Codename hinter dem Bronzetisch „Der Gehängte“ lautet, obwohl er nichts mit dem Weg des Gehängten zu tun hat.

Handlungsmethode

Method: digest

Description: A method of absorbing the power of a slain otherworldly being. The vessel must behave as prescribed by their stage until the power becomes part of them. Until the potion is digested, the bearer is vulnerable: the power is already there, but they have no control over it.

Path roles are shipboard: Sailor and Seaman live by sea work, Wind-Blessed steers the vessel where the weather is against, Ocean Singer appeals to the element itself.

The method long remained the knowledge of the few: church hierarchies were in no hurry to reveal it, and many otherworldly beings rose blindly, paying for it with their sanity.

The Path of the Tyrant. Its bearers raise and calm the storm, steer ships where no one passes, and rule over all that is beneath the waves. The ladder leads from Sailor and Mariner through Wind-Blessed and Ocean-Singer to Sea-King and Tyrant.
