The Beyonder must behave as his Sequence dictates, until the potion becomes part of him. While the potion hasn't been digested, the Beyonder is vulnerable: the power is already there, but the control over it is not yet.

The method long remained the knowledge of the few: the hierarchy of churches was in no hurry to reveal it, and many Beyonders advanced blindly, paying for it with their sanity.
